Bumi Hills Safari Lodge, situated on top of a hill, with the Zambezi escarpment as its backdrop, overlooking the foreshore below and the vastness of Lake Kariba, is still going strong. Recently Bumi Hills Safari Lodge completed a $3 million upgrade to get the most out of the incredible views available of Lake Kariba.
The remake of this classic plateau top property brings it to the forefront of attraction. Nestled in Matusadona National Park in Zimbabwe, Bumi Hills gutted and reconfigured their lake-view rooms.
The lake-view rooms were gutted and reconfigured to ensure a better view of Lake Kariba, and the number of rooms was consolidated to 10 lake-view rooms and two premium rooms, all of which overlook the lake.
In addition, the garden rooms have been converted to a spa and gym, the pool decking was extended and additions were made in the form of a fire pit, bar and dining room have been added.
Other improvements include brand-new lake cruise boats/pontoons, which have been brought in for game viewing and sunset cruises.

The Lodge offers a variety of activities which include game viewing in open safari vehicles, on foot accompanied by a professional guide and by boat. The sunset cruise provides guests with wonderful photographic opportunities especially of the famous Kariba sunsets. Bird watching, hide sits and casual fishing are also available.
Boat Transfer: Boat transfers depart from Marineland, Kariba at 12h00 every day and take approximately 90 mins – depending on the conditions on the lake. They return from the lodge at 09h00.
Air Transfers: The Bumi Hills airstrip (FVBM) is located a short 55-minute drive from the lodge.
